Former President and Founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jerry John Rawlings in an answer to a question on who he voted for in the ongoing parliamentary primaries said he voted for the obvious one.
The former President had the crowd’s attention when he arrived at the polling centre at the Arts Centre in Accra to support his preferred candidate for the constituency.
Though he did not disclose the name of the contestant he voted for, his daughter, Zenator Rawlings is currently the Member of Parliament for that constituency-Klottey-Korle Constituency and one of the candidates vying for that seat.
“I voted for the obvious one,” he told Joy News after casting his ballot.
Mr Rawlings urged delegates to comport themselves during the election and not allow money to influence their choices.
“We should all comport ourselves and do the most logical obvious thing. They shouldn’t allow money to influence their choices,” he stated.
The NDC’s upcoming parliamentary primaries are currently underway in 157 constituencies across the country.
Some 524 aspirants have been cleared to contest in the polls.
