Asamoah Gyan is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a striker and is the former captain of the Ghanaian national team.

Gyan began his career in 2003 with Ghanaian Premier League club Liberty Professionals scoring ten goals in sixteen matches then spent three seasons with Serie A club Udinese via two seasons loan at Modena netting on fifteen occasions in 53 league matches and at Udinese where he scored 11 times in 39 league matches. He has played in many league in the world including the English Premier League which played for the English team called Sunderland.

Asamoah has now signed a one year for the Ghana Premier League team Legon Cities FC.

Asamoah has three children with Gifty. The footballer, after filing for divorce from his wife, Gifty Gyan, late last year allegedly denied fathering their three children demanding a DNA test to be carried out on all three to ascertain if he is the father of the children.

Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan, is indeed the father of his three children after a paternity test was conducted.
