Popular Kumawood actor, Big Akwes has stated boldly that he has used juju before at a point in time in his career but found no comfort as it did not yield the desired result so he shunned it.
The actor, who is easily identified by his ‘Papa Ajasco’ kind of hairstyle, was one of panels on United programme hosted by the adorable Nana Ama Mcbrown on United Television (UTV) yesterday.
He and the other guests discussed a wide range of issues, including the siting of the forthcoming film village proposed by the incumbent government and whether juju works in the industry.
Big Akwes stated emphatically that there are several actors who go for juju to enhance their career but he went for it to protect himself against a possible attack from whoever might try to harm him in the industry.
Juju is a spiritual belief system incorporating objects, such as amulets, and spells used in religious practice, as part of witchcraft in West Africa.
